
Los Angeles native Beth Hart the blues-influenced rock singer and street performer who made her debut in 1995 on Immortal which attracted attention due to her unpretentious, open-minded nature as well as her gifted musicianship, heart-warming live performances and a voice similar to those of Janis Joplin. Chuck Taylor wrote that Hart was "the ideal model for natural women" in the October 2nd, 1999 issue of Billboard magazine. She's "bawdy hilarious, charming, jovial and wild with her preference to use a spicy words. However, none of that is comparable to her stage presence. The tall, lanky , tall singer/songwriter walks and sings a jig in a band with Mick Jagger . At other times, she'll take a place at the piano or centerstage in which her legs are crossed over the chairs and her voice so delicate and painfulthat it's difficult to tell if she's going to cry or whether you'll. Hart was a teenager when she participated in amateur competitions and also experienced the same reactions. But she did have reservations about the industry before she embarked on her professional career. Hart was forced to leave her band when performing around the world proved be detrimental. Hart was forced to be away from the limelight for almost four years. Hart spent this time contemplating her future, writing music and battling personal issues. Hart was ready to give her professional career another chance, and came back in 1999 with Screamin' for My Supper. The album that showed Hart's songwriting talents, with candid, vulnerable tracks about facing life's problems.
