Sofia Pernas was born in Morocco and moved to California in the age of five. She was raised mainly living in Orange County. She earned her degree of the University of California, San Diego in 2015 which is her year that she earned her big break in acting. Pernas she had appeared in small appearances in NCIS and Leverage before she was cast in the role as Marisa in The Young and the Restless as a well-known character on the soap opera. The actress who quit The soap after 2016 got the part as Catalina as a regular on Jane the Virgin.
